Project Runway just wrapped up it’s fifteenth season this past week with the finale where contestants showcase their final collection during the prestigious New York Fashion Week.  The four finalists were Laurence Basse, Erin Robertson, Roberi Parra, and Rik Villa.

***SPOILER ALERT***

And the winner was ……..Erin Robertson!

To be honest I wasn’t really surprised that she got the win. In my opinion, either Rik Villa or Roberi Parra should’ve won based on their Fashion Week collections.

After crowning Ashley Nell Tipton last season strictly because she designed for plus-size I told myself I would no longer watch the show. Candice Cuoco clearly should’ve won season fourteen. She was the clear standout and the best from the beginning. Cuoco’s biggest competition had to be Edmond Newton, who was equally as talented. In the end the judges based on other reasons and  really didn’t judge the final collection on its merits. It was already decided that the win would go along the politically correct standard regardless of who’s collection was better. Additionally Klum’s personal style is not the greatest. Anyway, somehow I gave the show the second chance and started watching again.

It is one thing to be a little bit out there but Erin is beyond kooky. Her own style is very outlandish and flashy. Sure, her arts & crafts element to her designs were cool once in awhile but it can’t be the basis of all of her looks. This isn’t an arts & crafts show — it a runway design show! That aesthetic was overly used. As numerous fans have called her designs and/or collection, “Big Bird” and “Clown” clothes. The designer is definitely creative but really her designs are not wearable. Not to even mention the issue of her constant wide and baggy fits. Also did anyone notice that all she wears and designs is yellow and her obsession with fruits, particularly with pineapples and bananas. The dress she wore to New York Fashion Week seemingly made her a walking version of the game, Fruit Ninja.

I’ve noticed that Heidi Klum always picks her favorite(s) in the beginning of the season and shields them from being eliminated regardless of how the runway show goes each week. This season it was Erin and it was quite obvious from the very first episode; and her feelings to her were overwhelming compared to her past favorites. Erin easily should’ve been sent home at least twice where she was rightfully in the bottom three. Klum and even Nina Garcia made sure that Robertson got the win.The finale collection is what the win should be based on and Erin’s certainly was not the best.  I will definitely not be watching next season. It’s all rigged!
